Walking Bus
A simple and fun way to:
- Help the environment
- Encourage exercise
- Promote community cohesion
- Ease traffic and congestion
Volunteers walk a dedicated route to school picking up other children at designated “Walk Stops” along the way.
All Walking Bus routes are risk assessed and approved by Kent and Medway Councils.

Just walking to school once a week can have a huge impact on so much more! Parents/carers leave the car at home and walk once a week:
- Reducing emissions
- Reducing congestion around school gates
- Getting children active and ready to study
- Creating awareness of environmental issues
- Promoting teamwork and knowing they are making a difference
Competitions and prizes throughout the year. All participating schools also have access to our Green Champions initiative.
All resources and guidance are supplied.
